![]() I have only heard about "emergency regenerations" for the DPF. I am also curious, how do you initiate a NOX catalyst regeneration with VCDS? I have VCDS and I didn't know you could do this. Of course, it is also possible that I do not fully understand how the NOX storage catalyst works (especially when forced). I do not know how long a forced (user initiated) DPF regeneration would last, but prolonged temperatures above 1000 degrees (F.) at EGT sensors #3 & 4 would indicate to me a DPF regeneration because that is generally the only place where you will see these kind of temperatures for any length of time (except maybe pre-turbo going up a mountain). EGT sensors #3&4 (the last 2) are both physically located in the DPF assembly and there are no temperature sensors beyond this, which means that there is no temperature sensor in the NOX Storage catalyst, or in the H2S catalyst.
